I've been volunteered by one of my little darlings to make flapjacks for school.AAgh! Can anyone suggest a recipe and quantities needed to feed a class? Thanks.

Kids are great aren't they!!

This recipe serves 12, so scale up accordingly:

175g butter cut into pieces
140g golden syrup
50g light muscovado syrup
250g oats

Preheat the oven to 180/gas4. line the base of shallow 9" square tin with a sheet of baking parchment.

put the butter, syrup and sugar in a medium pan. Stirover a low heat till butter's melted and sugar's dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the oats.

press the mixture into the tin. bake for 20-25 mins until golden brown on top.

Allow to cool in the tin for 5 mins then mark intosquares with the back of a knife while still warm. You must let it cool in the tin completely before cutting and removing. It stops the flapjacks breaking up!

Hope this helps!
